The ingredients needed to make Spinach idli:
  1. Take 2 cups idli rava
  2. Prepare 1/2 cup urad dal
  3. Prepare 1 bunch spinach leaves
  4. Take 7-8 cloves garlic
  5. Prepare 1 inch ginger
  6. Prepare 5-6 green chillies
  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp Soda
  8. Make ready 1 tsp Jeera
  9. Prepare as per taste Salt
  10. Prepare Handful coriander leaves

Wash the spinach leaves thoroughly, discarding the stems. Make idlis in a pressure cooker or Idli steamer and serve. Stuffed Idli is a delicious and healthy snack. For the filling, I used spicy chana dal stuffing which makes it unique and also flavorful.

Steps to make Spinach idli:
  1. Soak idli rava in warm water.
  2. In another bowl wash and soak urad dal for 6-7 hours.
  3. After 6-7 hours drain the water from both and add in mixer jar.Blend into a smooth batter.
  4. Now cover and rest in warm place for 6-7 hours for fermentation.
  5. Then wash and blanch the spinach leaves for 5 mins. And put it in cold water.
  6. Then in a mixer jar add blanched spinach leaves, green chillies, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves and grind into a smooth paste.
  7. Now add salt, Jeera and spinach paste in the idli batter and mix well.
  8. Then add soda and mix slowly.
  9. Now add the batter into idli moulds and place the idli plates into steamer and steam for 10-15 mins.
  10. Serve with coconut chutney.
