These radish pods looks quite similar to French beans but are very different taste wise. The taste of sengri is quite pungent like radish. Radish pods are rich in ascorbic acid, folic acid, and potassium. These nutritious pods or beans must be added in the regular menu to get the essential nutrients.
Steps to make Moongre (Radish Pod) Aaloo:
- Wash the moongre. Cut off both the ends and cut into 2 pieces. Peel rinse and Cube the potatoes.
- Heat oil in a pan add oinon fry golden brown.
- Add ginger paste and tomatoes and cook 2 minutes till tomato soft.
- Add dry ingredients and hing mix well.
- Add moongre and potatoes and mix well.
- Add milk and one cup of water and cover with lid for 15 minutes low heat.
- Check the vegetable have turned soft if no cover and cook for few more minutes add green chilli and green coriander leaves.
- Take it off heat.
- Serve hot with roti or naan sprinkle the Garam Masala (All spices) and enjoy the delicious food.
