- Take 2 tbsp oil

- Prepare 1 tbsp chana dal
- Take 1/3cup , grated coconut
- Get 1/3 tsp sambar powder

Add turmeric powder to the oil. Fry the onions with little salt till it becomes soft. Put the required extra salt, and all powders. Also we make snake gourd kootu too.
Steps to make Snake gourd masala fry:
- Wash the snake gourds, very well, peel off the skin after removing the two ends.
- Chop the gourd to 3 pieces and each to two, longitudinally.
- Remove the inner seeds and white parts. Then chop them as shown in photo.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a wok. - Add and crackle ponch phoran. Then fry urad and chana dal,till golden brown,on low heat.
- Then add chopped green chili and whole red chili. Sauté for some seconds.
- Then add curry leaves and sauté till dried. Add grated ginger and sauté for few seconds.
- Transfer the chopped gourd to the wok. Add salt and turmeric powder. Mix well, cover and cook on low flame till the veggies become soft.
- Now add sambar powder and grated coconut. Mix well and cook on medium flames, till remaining water dried up. - - Serve hot with steamed rice and sambar. - Thanks
